This is a personal web-site of an artist. My name is Xena Poleshuk, I am a multidisciplinary artist and researcher.
I am a former geographer and a researcher in the field of environmental sciences. I used to study climate and environmental changes of the past 20 000 years in Arctic (Svalbard archipelago, Severnaya Zemlya archipelago) as well as analysing sea level changes in Antarctic.
As a current artist I am exploring the topic of connection to the environment using my scientific experience as well as various artistic mediums — abstract paintings, tattoos, photography, texts and more.
My place of origin — Russia, Ural mountains and Baltic Sea coast; even though, as a reaction to political reality I have chosed to become an imigrant living in South America (Colombia, Brazil, Peru) since 2021, currently located in Cusco, Peru.
